Bespoke Suiter Indochino to Open Seattle Showroom

Vancouver-based Indochino is opening a new showroom in an environment that feels just like home: the coastal, rainy city of Seattle.

The made-to-measure suit seller will officially open the Seattle showroom’s doors on November 10, marking the omnichannel retailer’s eighth opening this year.

The Seattle location will be the company’s largest showroom to date, located near the city’s business district and downtown shopping core. While the seaport city isn’t a fashion capital, the growing tech startup scene in Seattle may see a new demand for tailored menswear.

“We have a strong affinity with our neighbors south of the border, with thousands of online customers and hundreds more who travel north to take advantage of our Canadian retail locations,” said CEO Drew Green in a release.

The e-commerce company’s long-term investor and shareholder Madrona Venture Group, which led Indochino’s $4-million Series A, is also based in Seattle.

“Indochino is a web-native brand that has leveraged the learnings from its e-commerce business to design a modern and truly omnichannel retail experience,” said Scott Jacobson, a partner at Madrona Venture Group and Indochino board member.

Indochino made its first move into bricks-and-mortar just over three years ago to complement its digital shopping experience. The showrooms allow men to get fitted for a suit in person instead of submitting their measurements online.

“It is fitting that the company’s first Seattle store is just a few blocks from Amazon, a company that recognizes the importance of omnichannel and are doing much of their own reinvention of the offline retail experience,” Jacobson added.

Indochino has opened 18 showrooms in North America to date. The company is aiming to expand outside Canada and the U.S. soon, with the five-year goal of opening 150 showrooms globally.
