Regtech Leader Trulioo Expanding Vancouver Operations

The advent of booming fintech startups in Canada means Trulioo, global identity verification provider, is expanding its Vancouver-based team—and fast.

Over the past five years, the regulatory technology (regtech) startup has evolved into a global identity verification provider that helps both early-stage fintech companies and traditional banks meet their compliance requirements.

Trulioo provides instant electronic identity and address verification for four billion people in more than 60 countries. To match the increasing demand for fraud prevention, Trulioo is now looking to add 50 more people to their growing team that’s already doubled in size in the past year alone.

“Building innovative tech and trust in the financial landscape is key to enabling financial inclusion, developing best privacy practices and mitigating the risks associated with online activities,” said Zac Cohen, General Manager of Trulioo, in a statement. “Trulioo offers talented people an opportunity to become part of something extraordinary.”

Last month, Trulioo launched its Global Business Verification product, giving customers access to 250 million businesses in more than 80 countries to verify business entities in real-time. The new product launch built on a successful year for the company, recognized in CNBC’s 2017 Disruptor 50 list alongside Airbnb, Lyft and WeWork.

The Vancouver startup is now hiring for both technical and non-technical positions, from software developers to marketing and sales.

“We offer endless opportunities for creativity and growth and believe in hiring candidates with great potential and the right attitude,” said Cohen. “What attracts people to work here most is the ability to make a real impact in today’s world and the future.”

Trulioo has been named an emerging fintech and leading regtech startup by KPMG, PwC and Deloitte, and its flagship GlobalGateway was ranked the top ID verification provider in the global 2017 RegTech Supplier Report. Since its 2011 launch, Trulioo has secured $23 million in funding.
