BroadbandTV Launches Distribution and Label Services for Musicians

BroadbandTV (BBTV) knows all about digital entertainment, and now they’re expanding their presence to focus on another art form: music.

The Vancouver-based BBTV has unveiled their Distribution & Label Services, a new offering for both new and established musicians designed to help secure distribution across all the major streaming platforms. Artists that work with this new service from BBTV will have access to leading streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Tidal, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Deezer and Pandora.

BBTV will also look to leverage their existing partnerships to make sure content from their artists and musicians are placed in top curated playlists and other platform-specific highlighted content packages, leading to more exposure.

“We believe this launch takes the industry forward as no other player in our space has launched such a complete and cohesive service of this kind,” said Ali Adab, VP of content and partnerships at BBTV. “We’re fully committed to opening even more monetization opportunities for digital talent and helping them expand their careers in music. We’re also working with traditional artists that are interested in tapping into BBTV’s vast network of talent for promotional and collaboration opportunities.”

The dedicated music division within BBTV will also offer up other services for musicians, including marketing support, original content production, influencer marketing and sponsorships. With this kind of platform, BBTV is hoping to give artists a different path to success than a typical major-label route, allowing them to stay independent while also receiving support and revenue.

After soft-launching Distribution & Label Services in July this year, BBTV has already seen success. The rapper KILLY released his EP through Opposition, BBTV’s hip-hop brand, and it received over one million streams in less than 24 hours, debuting at number four on Apple’s top albums chart in Canada.

BBTV has other partnerships with artists in-store as well and will be leveraging the existing work they have done with popular YouTubers as well. The digital entertainment company has had a big year so far, recently partnering with PBS and even launching a games division earlier in 2018. BBTV’s founder and CEO Shahrzad Rafati was also recently appointed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to be Canada’s representative on the Business Women Leaders task force.
